My name is Barbara Harris and I live in a small village in the beautiful Ribble Valley here in Lancashire.  My Kennel name of "Pendlemist" was taken from the book "Mist Over Pendle" which was written about the Lancashire Witches who lived many years ago on Pendle Hill, just up the road from where I live.

I have been an owner of Golden Retrievers since 1975. And during the past 35 years, have owned some lovely gentle Goldens, bred the occasional litter and also had great fun in the show ring with them.  Along the way, I have made many long term friendships with people who have come back to me years later for a new puppy when they have sadly lost their old dog.

These days, I own just two Goldens. Angus "Shantallah High Lite of Pendlemist" is my lively eight year old boy.   He is my constant companion and he, along with his Son Findlay are  Pets as Therapy dogs for Derian House Children's Hospice here in Chorley, Lancashire where we visit regularly, giving pleasure and stimulation to the very ill children staying there.  Both my boys are loved by the Children and Staff alike.

Angus has won 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th places at many of the Championship Shows we have attended during the last few years and we have also been fortunate to have won both 2nd and 5th places in his classes at CRUFTS the famous dog show attended by exhibitors from all over the world.  He has a Very Good Championship pedigree, his Father is Irish/UK Show Champion Erinderry Diamond Edge of Glenavis and his Grandfather is the famous Show Champion Standfast Augustus.

Though I have thoroughly enjoyed exhibiting my dogs over years, I am no longer able to exhibit due to having had both hips and one knee replaced and so I can no longer run my dogs in the show ring, and so regretfully have had to retire gracefully, but both myself and my boys get just as much pleasure from visiting the Children's Hospice instead.
